Retailers are discounting inventory very early this year, while I expect

some retailers could be doing this, do their own limited cash and credit, I 

suspect other retailers, know many layoffs are on the way, and folks

that just lost their jobs, wont be spending as much.

Given the recent lean years in the mortgage business, 

I expect a higher than normal number of layoffs 

this holiday season. 

So my advice is, be very frugal this holiday season, _if 

you hold any substantial doubts about your employers future.
