It is ok to have some inquires on your credit report when shopping for a mortgage. You need to shop around to protect yourself from high cost lenders. If you have an extremely high number of credit report inquiry's that are close to 2 years old your score should increase when they are removed from your credit report. Your credit score can decrease if there are an excessive number of inquiries. Each time you apply for credit, the lender will make an inquiry to establish your credit score and profile.
